Some people have reported a message saying the update was available, but that they need to connect their Xperia Z1 to a computer. If it suggests this, the update will need to be done manually by flashing the firmware file.

If you’re not on T-Mobile and want to know when to expect your update, you’ll need to speak to your network carrier.
