Despite the recent and successful launch of the PlayStation 4, Sony are quick to plan ahead to their next releases. It has been suggested that they’re planning on introducing two new PlayStation models.
The news was broken by DualShockers who reported that Sony had registered two new systems with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia where their models numbers have become public knowledge.

It is from these model numbers that readers have determined a new release console, or at least an upgraded one. The current model number of the Asian PS4 is CUH-1006A, while the new model number is CUH – 1106A. The change in the second number shows a console development, while the letter A at the end indicates it will still have the standard 500GB of hard drive storage.

The second model number that was registered looks to be that of an updated PS3. The number registered, CECH-4306CH, appears to be a later version of the current Super Slim model currently available (CECH-4001A). Sony has yet to make an announcement on these registered consoles, but we suspect they will do this at E3 2014 on June 9th.
There has been no word of current fourth gen console rivals developing the Xbox One, but if Sony does announce an upgraded Ps4, it may leave them no choice if they want to stay in the race.
