Nintendo has revealed a pair of Mario Kart 8 Premium Pack Wii U hardware bundles to celebrate release of the newest game in the long-standing racing series on May the 30th. But the question is – are you Team Mario, or Team Luigi?
Both of the Special Edition Wii U packs feature the 32GB premium console along with disc copy of Mario Kart 8, a GamePad with custom cover and well as a classic Wii Remote Plus and a wireless steering wheel in choice of Mario Red or Luigi Green. Not only this, but to get you in even more involved in the Mario Kart action, Nintendo is throwing in the famous Mario or Luigi cap to wear while racing!
The Mario Kart 8 game itself will include 16 new courses to tackle and 16 classic courses to re-master from the game’s 22 year history beginning on the SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) which are remixed for the current gen Wii U console with its glorious HD graphics and featuring all the characters, vehicles and weapons of the modern era Mario Kart games, along with new tricks such as anti-gravity driving, in the retro race tracks for the very first time.
The Wii U Mario Kart 8 Premium Pack is not the only hardware release Nintendo is launching to celebrate the game, there’s also two new Wii Remote Plus controllers going on sale featuring the livery of veteran racers Princess Peach and Yoshi – both available on May 30th from stores and the Nintendo eShop.
And let’s not forget the Mario Kart 8 Special Edition software pack which comes with one of the coolest bonus items we’ve seen – a replica of the deadly blue shell, a weapon infamous with Mario Kart players which can cause crushing disappointment to 1st place racers when its devastation is delivered!
