BlackBerry owners in the US can finally enjoy Spotify from today – just like their iPhone and Android gadget owning chums have been doing for a number of months already. Spotify made the news official through an announcement on the official blog of the popular streaming music service.
Spotify’s Blog informs RIM fans that the BlackBerry gadgets lined up for the music makeover treatment will include: BlackBerry Curve 8520 and 9300, BlackBerry Bold 9000, 9700 and 9780 smartphones running on the GSM networks. No mention of the struggling PlayBook. But we’d imagine it won’t be long before Spotify is heard on the 7” tablet in an attempt to bolster the sales appeal of the failing gadget which only recently added Angry Birds to its arsenal. Also, bearing in mind Spotify is a UK-based company, a European launch for the Spotify app should be on the playlist in coming months, bringing BlackBerry up to scratch with the leading mobile market leaders.
US readers can enjoy Spotify on their select BlackBerry devices now, by downloading the free software from the App World. The service is free for 30-days and $10 per month thereafter for unlimited access to the 15-million+ tracks available from the streaming music catalogue.
Spotify users in the UK can currently enjoy 30-days of free Premium service in a Christmas deal not to be missed! Read the Gadget Helpline’s coverage – Here.
