Stream Games To Any Device Remotely

Stream games to any device?

This is something most gamers can agree with. Given the choice, sometimes it may be more comfortable to sit down on the couch and play some of your games on the big screen instead of having to direct connect etc.

Steam link app is coming very soon, with its arrival, steam users should be able to stream their games to their other devices to play.

Steam Link App

The app will allow streaming of games from the users steam library to devices running either iOS or Android. Steam Link app will be available on iphone iPad and Apple TV as well as many devices running Android.  As long as both devices are connected to a host running Windows or macOS via a 5GHz Wi-FI or Ethernet, users will be able to stream games.

The app will also eliminate the need for a Steam-Link machine. Whether your phone or tablet will be good to play the games on is another subject entirely; Starcraft 2 using Touchscreen anyone?

There is a workaround for this though and Steam will provide it through the app: Steam controllers, MFI controllers and other devices will be supported.

As soon as the app is good to go, most of your steam library will be playable on your device up to 4k resolution and at 60 fps (depending on many factors of course). This will only be when users are connected to their home network.

The link app has been released in Beta today and is available from Google Play!

Stream games outside?

Although the idea of playing our steam games around the house on any device is great. It lacks in the fact that you cannot, for example, go on a train journey and continue the level you were on on your phone. There is a solution though, albeit not one that is going to link up with your steam library.

Moonlight App

Moonlight allows you to stream your apps and games to another client device on your network or the Internet. You can play your games on your PC, phone, tablet, or TV with Moonlight.

The Moonlight app streams games from a GameStream-compatible PC on your local network or the Internet.
After initial pairing and setup, Moonlight will show a list of apps to stream from your PC. You can add any other apps to this list through GeForce Experience. Mouse, keyboard, and controller input is sent from the Moonlight client to the PC.

So, how do you get the best possible gaming experience with moonlight? You will need a mid to high-end wireless router with a good wireless connection to your Moonlight client device (5 GHz highly recommended). You will also need a good connection from your PC to your router (Ethernet highly recommended) to stream games.
