Earlier in the week we discussed the supposed leaked specification for the HTC One (M8) Mini and the fact that following every major Smartphone release these days, we expect to see a Mini/Phablet version of the phones following shortly afterwards.
This massively applies to Samsung, who are just in the process of releasing their Galaxy S5 Android funning flagship phone, and no sooner do we get an official release, a smaller Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini specifications leaks online.
The leak comes from “insider sources” of tech website SamMobile, who are claiming that the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini will be coming out with a not so Mini 4.5-inch Super AMOLED screen running a 720p resolution, which if correct is a massive jump from the previous Galaxy S4 Mini’s QHD sAMOLED screen.

The source also states that the processor inside would be a Snapdragon one, and we would expect a quad-core processor for the higher spec scree, then inside it’ll have 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of storage and runs Android 4.4 KitKat.
Hardware wise the Mini is said to have a 8-megapixel rear camera with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, plus a 2,100 mAh battery, so not far off the current Galaxy S4 Mini. SamMobile also expect to see the through IP67 certification like the Galaxy S5, so as to compete with Sony’s tougher offerings.
The source also claims that a June release is expected, but Samsung will be waiting to get the Actual S5 release out of the way before turning their attention to the mid-ranged version.
Until more info is out though, we will be kept busy with the Galaxy S5 release which is on the 11th of April.
