Titanfall is out! Titanfall is out! Quick man your PCs it’s time… oh wait, nope, can’t play it.
Users are reporting that Origin, publisher EA’s PC platform, is throwing up errors such as the following: “Disconnect: ORIGIN error retrieving player data from storage – code 503“. Although this isn’t affecting everyone, a large number of you are reporting that you cannot play because of this issue. Is this another case of EA underestimating how many people would be trying to play at once or is it just an issue with Origin? We can’t say for certain and EA hasn’t yet commented.
Developer Respawn has acknowledged the issue and set up a help page on EA’s website to provide more information. The website reads: “Titanfall is currently experiencing connection problems, which means you may not be able to connect to online play, or even might get dropped from an online match you’re currently playing. Rest assured that we’re addressing this problem and will provide updates as soon as possible.”
That was almost 8 hours ago now, so it’s safe to say those of you still having issues are probably more than a little frustrated. On the bright side you can still play it on the Xbox One, right? Well, not exactly. Titanfall launched on Xbox One and PC last night in North America and a short while later Xbox Live started throwing up errors of its own.
“Looks like Xbox live sign in is down currently,” Respawn boss Vince Zampella tweeted. “I hope that isn’t our fault!” Yes Zampella, it’s your fault that Microsoft systems can’t handle a sudden influx of users.
These errors actually appear to be resolved now and all Xbox services are showing the green tick, so hopefully Microsoft has either fixed the issue or left it to fix itself. Obviously all of this is irrelevant to our UK readers as the mech shooter isn’t out until midnight this Thursday, but at least now you know what you have to look forward to. Fingers cross Microsoft and EA iron out these issues before we jump into the game!
I was forced to pay Microsoft for membership of Xbox live and it it just doesn’t work. I want my money back. I hear office 365 is just as buggy?
