UPDATE: ASUS UK Tweet Confirms Android ICS for Transformer Eee Pad (TFT101) Available NOW!

Yesterday the Gadget Helpline reported to you that the original ASUS Transformer Eee Pad (numerically that’s the TF101 model) would be getting its tasty update to Android version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich before March – and a tweet from the company’s micro-blogging social presence has confirmed that update will be coming today!

The @ASUSUK Twitter account posted just fifty minutes ago, saying “To those asking, TF101 ICS update is scheduled to be with you all today. Please be patient, we have a whole world of Tablets to update” – followed by a winky face. Since then the eager Transformer tablet owners have been asking at what time exactly today the update to ICS will drop, to which ASUS has not been forthcoming to confirm. They have simply replied that it’s “on its way soon” and that they have “never had a more in demand update” as the newest Android 4.0.

We’ll keep an eye on the ASUS UK Twitter feed and try to update this information when the new Android rolls in – Because as ASUS observes “There’s a lot of #ICS love out there at the moment!”

UPDATE: ASUS UK has just retweeted a post from an owner which suggests the Android ICS update is now available – “loving the new #ICS update. Keep finding new stuff. Been using a few hours now, with no problems. Thanks”
