UPDATE: IT’S BACK!
Brits are in a panic after waking up to find beloved social network Facebook unavailable.
The service appears to have gone down at around 8:30 am and rather than offering the usual news feed and personal timelines visitors would experience a white screen and nothing on it or an ominous message appearing reading – “Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.”
Most of us use Facebook religiously to sneer at the daily dramas of our friends and colleagues and frequent the service more than we would a tabloid newspaper to find out celeb news such as who’s died and who’s only rumoured to have died. All that important stuff, y’know.
No explanation has yet been given as to why Facebook was suddenly pulled from service, and we’ve even tried with some great irony to check Facebook’s Twitter account for news but the tweet’s have not been updated since Tuesday. Clearly not a regular user of the rival social network. Interestingly, when you visit Facebook’s account on Twitter the recent redesign will have you believe you’re actually on Facebook. Some small consolation while the global social crisis is resolved..
