Virgin Media Anywhere On Demand Service Gets 21 New Channels and Android App

The range of available channels on Virgin Media’s Anywhere app for PC, laptop with Windows and MacOS, iPhone and iPad will be bulked up when no less than 21 new stations arrive on the broadcaster’s on-demand service.

New channels on both web and iOS platforms include: Animal Planet, Cartoonito, Channel 4, More4, Discovery Channel, Discovery History, Discovery Home & Health, Discovery Science, Discovery Shed, Discovery Turbo, DMAX, I.D. With MTV, Nickleodeon, Nick Jr., Quest, Sky 2, Sky Arts 1, Sky LivingIt, Syfy, TLC and Universal Channel becoming available on the web for Windows and Mac only at the moment.

The Virgin Media Anywhere service launched in November, a short time after BSkyB launched its own popular Sky Go app. Virgin’s offering works much in the same way and let’s subscribers watch live and stored content as well as a 7-day catch up of favourite telly from their home digi-box with a vast range of programming available right in the palm of their hand through a mobile app available for Apple iOS.

In the same breath, Virgin Media has also confirmed that Android owners will not have to wait much longer for a version of Anywhere to become available on Google based tablets and smartphones later in the year.
