Virgin Media customers who currently have the company’s fastest 100Mbps broadband connection will be getting another speed boost as part of its recent advertising campaign – the ones with Mo Farah and Usain Bolt, with the company seeing its broadband speeds rising to 120Mbps.
The company had introduced its ‘Double your Speed’ advertising campaign earlier this year and claimed that over four million households would see their speeds doubled by mid-2013, and it’s accordingly starting at the top by increasing the top package.
The 20Mb increase has reportedly been pushed out to 40% of the Virgin network at the moment, but as you can expect a 100Mbps increase for existing customers will still be a long way off as the network will surely work its way down through its connection speeds.
Jon James, Executive Director of Broadband at Virgin Media has said:
“Virgin Media has led the greatest developments in broadband in the UK over the last decade and our 120Mb service continues to ensure that our consumers across the country get the very best that today’s technology offers,”
Virgin’s other broadband packages are available in speeds of 10 Mb and 30Mb, which have already been increased to 30Mb and 60Mb respectively in the last few months. This does however depend on where you are in the country, with built-up areas already seeing the changes.
The recent advertising campaign for Virgin Media has focused on speed with its use of Olympic heroes Usain Bolt and Mo Farah both pretending to be Sir Richard Branson themselves.
