Virgin Media has revealed it will be bringing Spotify Premium into its mobile and broadband deals – allowing new and existing customers to enjoy the popular streaming music service on PC, laptops and pocket gadgets.
The telly and broadband co will be offering up to six months subscription to the ad-free Spotify Premium included into the monthly bill. This is a saving for Virgin mobile customers, claiming free 3-months of music streaming and downloads of almost £30 value (and not effecting data usage) and broadband customers save up to £60 for six months of Spotify, while the rest of us tune into the commercially-backed and annoying freebie service – you lucky people!
The new addition will also be notable by a new ‘VM Music’ tab appearing for broadband subscribers and this tab will link to exclusive content available only through the Virgin / Spotify partnership.
As well as mobile and broadband, telly-based TiVo will also get the Spotify treatment allowing customers to benefit from music through their TV. Further details on this part of the bargain will be coming soon. But for now we can expect the mobile and broadband deals to roll out within a few weeks.
Virgin Media’s Exec for Digital Entertainment, Cindy Rose, says “Great digital services are no longer just about fast broadband or the latest TV technology, but increasingly about how people use their services to power and excite their daily lives.”
