Virgin Media has bagged its customers an exclusive with the ZTE Blade V which went on sale this week as part of the company’s Pay As You Go range. The launch of this smartphone is even more special in that it makes Virgin the only network to currently offer a handset with a snappy quad-core processor for less than £100.
The budget-friendly ZTE Blade V is available now and costs £71.99 to existing Virgin Media customers or £89.99 from the online store to non-subscribers, with a minimum £10 top-up required to get you started on Virgin’s VIP mobile scheme.
As well as that sharp 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm CPU the handset features 1GB of RAM with 4GB of storage, plus the opportunity to expand up to 32GB with the use of a micro SD Card. The touchscreen is an ample 4-inch WVGA display with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution and the ZTE Blade V runs current Android OS 4.1 Jelly Bean straight out of the box with access to the Google Play Store. There’s also a respectable 5-megapixel camera thrown in for snapshots and video capture.
Richard Branson’s British Virgin Media empire and the Chinese mobile manufacturer have previously partnered to launch the ZTE Blade III back in February and we’re pleased the union continues to bring us this pocket powerhouse at a pleasing price.
