After launching its 4G network in London last month, Vodafone has quickly put the wheels in motion and has confirmed that the speedy network will be reaching five further cities at the end of this month.
Joining London in being blessed by Vodafone’s speedy new network will be Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Nottingham and Sheffield. Vodafone will flick the switch on September 28th, increasing its UK coverage considerably. It will however still be a way behind EE, who just announced they’ve reached the 1 million customer mark and coverage of over 60% of the UK.
In an attempt to lure customers to the new service, Vodafone has launched an initiative which gives customers an extra 4GB of data for free. 4GBonus will give new and existing customers 4GB of data to use on the 4G network every month until their contracts expire provided the customer signs up to a 4G tariff before the end of October.
A further bonus will be offered to those who sign up for 12 or 24 month SIM-only contracts, with three months unlimited UK data to start off with and double data for every month thereafter.
The eagle eyed out there will have noticed that Vodafone’s new promotion comes just a day before Apple reveals its new iPhone(s), the expected iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. Whilst we’re not yet sure if the 5C will feature 4G connectivity, the iPhone 5S certainly will, and what better way to promote your 4G network than by saying it works with Apple’s latest gadget?
