Sony Ericsson has launched the update to Android Gingerbread for Xperia Arc and Play in the UK. Vodafone have the scoop on other networks and have kindly slapped a big old Facebook interface in there for all you web-based socialites.
Facebook in Xperia will be much more integrated including news feeds and contacts embedding and a more widespread social experience which brings “Like” buttons into many of the users existing apps so that music and video approval is available more freely and not strictly contained to Facebook itself.
Along with the new and improved social networking element the Android 2.3.3 upgrade will offer better call quality, exchange accounts and email.
Vodafone customers with either Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc or Play handset should receive notification soon when the update is available – but will need to manually install Android 2.3.3 the “old fashioned” way. Plug in and get your goodies!
