Vodafone to supply thinner Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 in the UK

The Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 is coming to Vodafone network in the UK. Having previously told us they’d be stocking stocky 10.1v model the Vodafone website is updated and is now showing new slimmed down 10.1 model will be up for sale “coming soon”.

In February it was announced that Vodafone would be first to grab the tab in an exclusive launch partnership, but since then a low-fat version of the GALAXY Tab 10.1 has been revealed by Samsung, presumably to keep up with the overly-popular Apple iPad 2, and it appears that Vodafone are keeping up as well by changing the model to meet the changing face of the tablet market.

“The Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 boasts a lightweight body, a large 10.1″ touchscreen and a fast 1.2GHz processor. All this, plus Honeycomb – the latest version of the Android operating system that’s specially designed for tablets.” states the Vodafone site – but no details on a release date or price. You can however register on the website to get all the updates, and of course we at the Gadget Helpline will be here to bring you the latest info straight to the blog.

Lucky New Yorkers are getting their fingers on the Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 today for a limited release through Best Buy in Times Square ahead of the rest of the United States who will get their fix from June 17th.
