If you’re a big fan of rare and exclusive gadgets and the black Nexus 4 wasn’t hard enough to find for you, then maybe a frosty white version is what you need.
The white knight is a very real thing thanks to a leaked snap appearing over at Phone Arena, who themselves have thoroughly checked it for any Photoshopping or fakery, and claim it to be legit. Comparing it to our black Nexus 4 it certainly looks real, with the light catching the unique glittery back in just the right place it should considering the angle the phone is at.
We heard rumours of a white Nexus 4 late last year when UK supplier TalkTalk claimed it would be stocking the phone in both black and white on various tariffs. We’ve heard nothing since, but this picture adds fuel to the fire and leads us to believe that Google could be plotting an official reveal at its I/O Developer Conference in May.
If the picture turns out to be legit then Google and LG will be keeping the design mostly the same, but will be adding silver accents to the flash and camera modules on the back of the phone. On the black version both simply have black plastic frames, and so the white version looks slightly upgraded and more flashy.
The image was taken on an LG Optimus G, which itself is not available in the UK and Europe to the public, so it could very well have been taken by an employee at LG.
Still, the white Nexus 4 pictured could be a one-off, a prototype or even an exclusive model for Google or LG employees – it’s happened before. We’re hoping it will hit the shelves very soon, so stay tuned for the latest developments.
The still elusive SIM-free black Nexus 4 is said to make its triumphant return to the UK Play Store very soon.
UPDATE: The very reliable Vietnamese gadget site Tinhte has uploaded a rather epic photo gallery of the white Nexus 4, and it’s gorgeous. However, it seems that LG won’t be going all-white with the the phone, keeping the same black front. Check out the snaps below and hit up Tinhte for the full gallery.
