Remember the Ouya console that caused a bit of a buzz a while ago? Well the creators of the little box of Android-based fun are planning to re-release the gaming gadget to North America in time for a White Christmas with double the original storage!
Announced today on the official Ouya website, a brand new ‘Holiday Edition’ of the console will be available on December the 8th for a limited time only with pre-orders now live on Ouya.tv and Amazon. The previous silver and black finish of the original Ouya (which was retail launched in June costing $99) is replaced by a completely white finish. Not only is it very stylish but it comes with 16GB internal storage, a generous upgrade of 8GB.
The rest of the Ouya internals remain the same with nippy quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM on-board for a smooth play of the countless free Android games available and the console comes equipped with USB and HDMI port for 1080p video output (HDMI lead provided) as well as the necessary power adaptor and Bluetooth connected controller which is also a cool white.
As mentioned, pre-ordering has begun and the Ouya Holiday Edition costs $129.99 and will probably fit in a largish stocking – thanks Santa!
