2K Sports has announced a release date for the continuation of the annual WWE video games series which it took over publishing rights for last year, and WWE 2K15 will go on sale on October 28th 2014.
First slamming down in North America on PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 then breaking international borders and bodies three days later for all the same platforms on October 31st. WWE2K15 falls into its usual Autumn slot – a tradition which the brand has upheld for a number of years, including previous releases under the THQ banner.
All we have at the moment is a confirmation of the date and a logo also revealed by 2K Sports today which is in the same uniformed style as the last release, WWE2K14.
As of yet there is no footage, photos or word on what match types or characters will be appearing in the next game, but we can expect favourites like John Cena and the Rock will be returning, alongside a new wave of potentially playable superstars such as high-flying tag team the Usos, British Divas Champion Paige and the sinister cult leader Bray Wyatt (we can but hope).
Also no mention of this year’s theme, last year’s game was based around the 30th Anniversary of Wrestlemania with historical matches playable for the first time in a WWE game. The Gadget Helpline thinks some classic clashes from WCW deserve a revisit and with the recent signing of the ‘Icon’ Sting to the WWE talent pool and recently appearing on the WWE Network we’d hope he becomes a playable legend!
