We are now in a glorious world where gamers are being gifted free games on a monthly basis, and each month we at the Gadget Helpline will be piling together all the free games on offer from both Microsoft and Sony for their Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PS4 consoles.
Microsoft Games with Gold promotion and Sony Playstation Plus service will allow gamers with Xbox Live Gold or the premium Playstation plus access to free games each month.
The free games for July have now been announced, and will be as follows:
Xbox Live Gold:
Julys Games with Gold offers up 3 games on the Xbox 360, Guacamelee!, Gotham City Impostors and BattleBlock Theater all of which will be free to download from July the 1st to all Xbox Live Gold subscribers.
Guacamelee!, is the headline game this month and comes in the form of the Super Turbo Championship Edition which will be launching for the first time on Xbox Consoles. The games is a madcap side scrolling platformer focusing on masked luchador Juan Aguacate who must rescue the Mexican president’s daughter.
Then from July 1st to 15th users can download Gotham City Impostors, which allows sees two six player teams fighting using Batman and Joker-inspired weapons, and then from the 16th to 31st of July it will switch too Behemoth’s BattleBlock Theater which is a puzzle platformer that sees you jumping, fighting and trying to survive against some seriously demented and intelligent cats.
And for Xbox One owners, Max: The Curse of Brotherhood will remain available for Xbox Live Gold members.
Playstation Plus:
For the PS4 Sony PS Plus customers will be given TowerFall Ascension and Strider in July.
Towerfall Ascension is the critically acclaimed PC and console version of the popular Ouya game, which includes new levels and characters. Gameplay is a classical once screen battle system akin to bubble bobble. Strider from Double Helix Games is a side long platformer based around some ninja fighting action!
For the PS3, Dead Space 3 and Vessel are the two free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers in June, Dead space 3 is the full game carrying on with Isaac Clarkes unfortunate space odyssey, while Vessel is another side scrolling platform puzzler.
And finally PlayStation Vita owners will get LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes and Doki-Doki Universe free of charge in July.
All of the PlayStation Plus free games will be available from July 2nd seeing out Puppeteer, Trine 2: The Complete Story, and Dragon’s Crown from Junes offering.
