If there is one thing that will add fuel to the 2014 Christmas console wars, it’s a good old price cut, and our Xbox One-less cousins over in the US should be rejoicing if they are expecting a XB1 under the Christmas tree, as the Console will be seeing a $50 price drop over the festive period.
Microsoft have confirmed teat they will be offering a pretty decent price drop on the console from November the 2nd to January the 3rd in the US for a number of bundles from some “selected “ retailers.
The sale will see the Xbox One retailing for just $350, which if it were directly exchanged would be around £220! Which is a pretty big discount on the £330 we currently pay our for a Xbox One console in the UK.

The bundles that will be available will include Assassin’s Creed Unity, Sunset Overdrive and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare games bundled in different packages, at participating US stores including Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Microsoft Stores, Target, Toys ‘R Us and Walmart.
With the announcement of the discount, Microsoft’s corporate vice president Yusef Mehdi said, “Fans don’t have to wait for Black Friday this year to enjoy great savings on Xbox One,” and that they are “offering our best price yet, with unprecedented choices and value, so more people can play on Xbox One this holiday. We’re gearing up for one of our biggest holidays ever and we are thrilled to offer fans up to $150 in savings on Xbox One and some of the biggest blockbuster games of the season.”
Microsoft have a big few months coming their way with the release of three big exclusive games in the form of Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizon 2 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection along with major cross platform releases like Call of Duty Advanced warfare and WWE 2K15, so a discounted Xbox will have many great games to play on it.
We very much doubt that the Xbox One will be seeing such a big price drop in the UK, as it has seen some drops in the cost in the past few months, but with the rivalry between Xbox and the PS4 still in full force, then MS may have to do something about!
