Xbox One and PC Beta Registration for Titanfall Now Open – Limited Codes Available

Titanfall is set to go into closed beta sometime around the middle of this month and EA and Respawn announced yesterday that they have opened registration. If you want to be one of the first people to try the much-hyped first person shooter/first robot shooter Titanfall then you can now sign up at titanfall.com/beta.

To sign up you will need an Origin account, which can be created via the link and successful applicants will receive their code by 11.59pm on February 17th, allowing them to dive into the game early.

Unfortunately for Xbox 360 fans the beta will only be available for Xbox One and PC, even though the game is set to launch on all 3 platforms this year. However, last week news broke that the Xbox 360 version of the game would also be delayed by a month, so gamers keen to play could by an Xbox One or wait it out to play the 360 version.

For those looking to rush off to the site, here’s a heads up: The sign up site is currently overloaded from the amount of people trying to get their hands on a code, and considering the limited amount of codes that will be given, many of us will be left out.

For those of you who have been living under a rock for the last couple of months, Titanfall is pegged to be the one of the top games of 2014, hailing from the Respawn studio. It’s their first title and the team behind it comprises of ex-Infinity Ward members that worked on the famous or infamous (depending on your standpoint) Call Of Duty franchise. Respawn has been working on Titanfall for three years now and following the recent delay in release dates it’s set to come out on March 14th in the UK and March 11th in the US for PC and Xbox One.  The Xbox 360 version will be landing 2 weeks after both release dates respectively and it will not be released on PS3 or PS4 thanks to an agreement Respawn has with Microsoft.

Titanfall pits teams compromising of mechs (giant human-piloted robots) and humans with jetpacks against each other in large scale warfare set in the frontiers of the far-out reaches of space – what more could you ask for in a game? The game is multiplayer-only with a story-based campaign made up of several skirmishes and battles against other players, and looks set to be another classic run and gun FPS but this time with mechs and jetpacks.
