The Microsoft Xbox One and the Sony PlayStation 4 are two of the biggest incoming gadgets of the foreseeable future and with 2013 continuing to fly past we’re getting closer and closer to the reported Q4 release dates of the two consoles and thus, eager retailers are possibly giving away the release dates for the PS4 and Xbox One in pre-order pages.
Toys R Us have set up pre-order pages for the hotly anticipated consoles where they state the release dates of December 13th for the Sony PS4 and November 29th for the Xbox One, putting just a 2 week gap between the two competing consoles.
The pre-order pages for the PS4 and Xbox One are both live now and may be the inside bit of information on the incoming consoles that we have all been waiting for. We know that both are expected to land before Christmas 2013 so a November release date was expected, but December 13th seems a bit late in the Xmas build-up to release such a big console.
The information could just be a guesstimate by Toys R Us as other retailers like Amazon have also been placing their expected dates on their website pre-order pages. It could all just be a sales ploy too, as the PS4 and Xbox One are both going to be major sellers and retailers are looking to secure the sales of the incoming consoles ASAP.
Microsoft has already issued a statement saying that the previously reported November 27th release date was simply a place holder and that none of Microsoft’s retail partners had been informed a specific release date.
The release date is the last bit of the next generation console puzzle as we already know that the Xbox One will retail for £419.99 in the UK and the PS4 for £349.99, as well as info on the launch games, hardware and features.
We can’t wait much longer so hopefully the two will reveal official launch dates at Gamescom next month.
