Lesser-known smartphone manufacturer ZTE has announced its latest Android running smartphone; the ZTE Blade III, and where the device will go on sale, with the Nordic territories being first to see it.
Yes, ZTE has announced that the Android ICS sporting smartphone will land first in Finland and Sweden first before the smartphone rolls out across Europe. The Blade III is a budget smartphone which the company is looking to sell for just £140 when it is released.
In the UK we can expect the phone to arrive, but under another guise, as the original ZTE Blade and Blade II were both released here on the Orange network as the own-branded Orange San Francisco and Orange San Francisco II.
With a little deduction we’ve figured that we could see the ZTE Blade III come out here as the Orange San Francisco III or some other alternative.
The budget smartphone will come with a a large 4inch WVGA touch display, running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It has a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM 7227 A processor, plus a 5 megapixel back camera with auto-focus.
Additionally, the Blade 3 will have a decent 2.5GB of on-board storage (a huge increase on the ZTE Blade II which had just 200MB) which, thanks to a microSD card slot, can be expanded by a further 32GB.
Finally, the handset will come out in two different colours as there will be a white variant available to those in Finland from its September release, and in Sweden there will be a black version in October.
There is no word on a UK release but we do expect to see the device in some form in the coming months.
