Wow, if the events of earlier this year are anything to go by, then I’d say that these are going to sale pretty quickly.
HP has just confirmed that an undisclosed amount of both the 16GB and 32GB TouchPad tablet devices are going to be made available on HP’s official eBay store.
If you read the small print you’ll realise that the TouchPads on offer are not brand new, instead they are refurbished models that we’re originally sold and returned during the initial mad buying frenzy.
Sales of both models will be limited to two per eBay member and PayPal must be used to complete the transaction. The terms also state that all sales are final, however the TouchPads will be provided with a 90-day warranty should you unfortunately find that the tablet has a fault.
The internal HP memo also states that employees will be able to get a head start on obtaining a touch pad starting at 6:00pm on the 11th December, HP will then make an announcement as to when the remaining TouchPads will be available for the general public.
As you’ll now doubt remember, the history of the TouchPad was not great – it was pulled after just two and a half months on sale. HP then decided to massively reduce the price of the TouchPad in order to clear their inventory of stock, and that’s when it became the most sort after tablet on the market.
Anyway, as soon as we know more details as to when the TouchPads will be made available to the public to purchase, we’ll let you know.
