Apple appeal for old iPads to help kids education

Apple stores in the United States have teamed with the an educational program to encourage kind-hearted buyers of the latest iPad 2 to donate any working original model iPads to help a number of disadvantaged schools in rural and urban areas across America.

Teach for America depends on volunteers and does great work assisting a number of schools in low-income areas helping out youngsters, whose families may not be so well-off and make the most of their learning experience by schemes such as this appeal with Apple.

iPads donated will be taken in at Apple stores, when a customer buys the new model, they will then be sent out to classrooms to aide the dedicated teaching volunteers in their lessons and interactivity with students.

Such a great scheme will hopefully be a success and many will be generous enough to give up their old tablets rather than toss them aside unused. We can imagine that maybe a success overseas will set something similar in motion in other countries, perhaps even here when the iPad 2 hits the UK on 25th of March.
