With Blackberry World coming to a close, tech websites and publications are hunting out those last bits of vital information on what RIM will being coming up with this year. We’ve already seen official announcements for the Bold 9900 and 9930, and learned that BES will work with iPhone and Android in the near future, but surely there’s some other news lurking within the conference!
Tech news website BGR is reporting that RIM plan to release a second Blackberry Playbook tablet – this time a 10-inch variant – as soon as the Christmas period this year. BGR quote multiple sources that are familiar with RIM’s product roadmap, who have stated that RIM plan to release a larger tablet to compete with Apple’s iPad.
Unfortunately other than the whispers surrounding a larger Playbook, there’s no other details on the product itself as of yet. We suspect RIM will use the same QNX software, and use a updated version which will include the dedicated Contacts, Calendar and Email clients that are currently missing from the 7-inch Blackberry Playbook.
