Latest Apple iPhone 5 Rumour – 8MP camera and “SIM-free” design

Big claims for the next incarnation of Apple’s iPhone (5 or 4s) circulating today from Japanese tech site Macotakara – the site who’s previous predictions for the iPhone range and the iPad 2 have been more hit than miss.

We’ve seen that Apple look set to utilise a smaller SIM, allowing a thinner design but the Japanese website suggests that the iPhone will be a “SIM-free” design and will look very close to the iPhone 4 – which we’ve previously seen in snapshots furthering backing the idea the next iPhone will be an upgrade to version “4s”.

In those pics we saw what was claimed to be the back casing of the next iPhone, featuring a red-eye reducing re-positioning of the flash that compliments the camera which Macotakara claim will now be an 8-megapixel shooter.

The site goes on to suggest that the next iPhone will be running on an ARM Cortex-A9 processor and will be launched in August – a full month before Apple’s customary reveal month of September, when yearly announcements seem to be the tradition for iPhone.
