The Acer AC700 Google Chrome OS sporting Laptop

Acer has outed its second Google OS Chromebook, the Acer AC700, today as the latest laptop to go on sale in the US with the new Google Chrome operating system.

The Acer AC700 is Acer’s second Chrome OS running device (the first one was announced at Google I/O this year) and the company has announced it will be unleashing the device within a few days from now stateside. The Ac700 will feature a 11.6-inch HD Widescreen CineCrystal LED-backlit LCD screen and will run off an Intel Atom N570 dual-core processor, so it’s got a bit of push behind it.

The AC700 will also have 2GB of DDR3 memory, 16GB SSD storage, integrated HD 1.3MP webcam, HDMI output, two USB 2.0 ports, 4-in-1 card reader and will of course offer Wi-Fi connectivity (b/g/n), with a 3G model coming later in the year for the permanently connected people out there.

The Acer AC700 will weigh only 1.33Kg and is one inch thick, with a 6-cell battery that will run for a reported six hours continuously. It’s a very portable little laptop, and you certainly won’t notice much extra weight to your bag with this little one inside!

The Acer AC700 Google Chrome OS Laptop will go on sale this month in the US and will be priced at $349.99 with no word on the device coming to the UK just yet.
