Acer release 16GB Iconia A500 Tab with £100 saving!

  • by

After seeing a great deal of success with their Android Honeycomb based A500 Iconia Tablet, Acer has decided to release a cheaper model with half the storage.

Until now there has been a 32GB Wi-Fi only model available on European and US markets, but Acer have now seen an opportunity to release a cheaper model with 16GB storage. With the cut in storage capacity comes a much welcomed cut in price – £100 to be precise.

The 32GB model has been on sale in the UK since April, priced at £450 and in direct competition with the Motorola Xoom. Reviews for the device have been impressive, as have sales according to Acer.

As of now there will be a 16GB model available in the UK, priced at £349.99. All the other specifications stay exactly the same, meaning you’ll get Android Honeycomb, a 10.1-inch screen, Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 1GB RAM, HDMI out, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, front-facing camera, rear 5MP camera and Flash capabilities.

Will you consider getting yourself an Acer A500 tablet now that the price has been lowered? We certainly would! Let us know if you’ll be considering getting the 16GB model via our Twitter and Facebook pages.

Also don’t forget that the Acer Iconia Tab A500 will be getting the latest Android 3.1 update July 5th!
