Can we expect true HDTV potential unleashed from Apple this September? A massive boost from the current Apple TV’s lowly 720p resolution up to full HD 1080p 1920 x 1080 is ahead if an online source can be trusted.
Along with a whole bunch of expected announcements including a possible peek at the iPhone 5 and iPad 3, Apple Insider suggests that we’ll also see the high-def telly service live up to its potential with a number of full HD movies to appear on iTunes later in the year.
Apple Insider says “A handful of feature films being submitted to the iTunes Store for a release in the September and October timeframe are being sent with documentation for an optional 1920×1080 resolution”.
Criticisms of the current service may have prompted Apple to address the HD disappointment and the A4 box currently putting out a below-par high-def experience is said to be replaced with a new A5 HDTV set with dual-core 1GHz processor supporting the 1080p picture output.
There’s no official word to suggest that the HDTV myth might be true, but we need only wait until Apple’s September announcement flurry to find out!
