10 inch HTC Puccini Tablet passes FCC checks

HTC’s second tablet, the 10-inch Puccini, looks like it just got a lot more official. The big brother to the 7-inch HTC Flyer just passed through some checks at the U.S. FCC (Federal Communications Commission).

Above is the overview of the Puccini (model PG09410) from the back which shows a rear camera, SIM Card slot and both 3G and 4G (LTE) radios. The FCC only tests devices for the American market, and as the U.S. is currently the largest country offering 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) networks, we imagine the Puccini will be hitting stateside exclusively before anywhere else.

Engadget believe that the Puccini will be heading to U.S. network AT&T exclusively to launch on their new 4G mobile network. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that the Puccini will make it to the UK and Europe on both 3G and Wi-Fi – a full-sized Android tablet from HTC would be great.

Supposed specifications for the HTC Puccini were leaked back in May, pointing towards a 10.1-inch tablet running Android Honeycomb 3.1. Rumours also indicated HTC would be using a Qualcomm MSM 8660 1.5GHz processor along with a new version of HTC Sense for the tablet, which unfortunately this latest piece of info from the FCC cannot confirm.

We’ll keep you posted on the HTC Puccini as soon as we hear more. Why not tell us what features you would like to see on this tablet via our Twitter page!
