Amazon.co.uk has slashed the price of the Motorola Xoom Tablet by a hefty £85, taking the price down to a very reasonable £394.95 for the Wi-Fi model.
The 3G + Wi-Fi model has also received a price cut of £25 down to £554.99. We’re most interested in the Wi-Fi only model here – with Amazon’s gratuitous price slash we’re looking at Android Honeycomb and a great tablet device for under £400!
The Motorola Xoom was the first tablet to hit the market carrying Google’s tablet software, Android Honeycomb. Despite slightly lacklustre sales it’s still a fantastic device with its 10.1-inch HD display, speedy Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, 5-megapixel camera and 1GB of RAM.
It may be heavier and thicker than Apple’s iPad 2 but it feels very well made and looks great in gloss black – there’s no mistaking that the Motorola Xoom is up there with the best of them.
We’ve been wondering whether Amazon have a specific motive for slashing quite so much off the price for both models. Our editor has suggested that perhaps they’re making room for its successor, the Xoom 2. Personally, I think that sales haven’t lived up to Amazon’s expectations and as such they have a few more to shift than they had anticipated.
Don’t be caught up wondering why the price has been dropped though, get over to Amazon and bag yourself a fantastic tablet for an even better price! At the time of writing there are only 4 of each model left in stock so be quick.
