Lenovo announces a phone with built-in projection keyboard

Projection keyboards have always been accessories and not very good ones at that. So it’s odd to see Lenovo combine one with the smartphone, odd and awesome. This incorporated Pico projector along with a gesture-based control system seems to work a treat.

The Lenovo Pico projector allows you to transform any surface into a smart display thanks to a built-in kick-stand and variable bracket projector. Combine this with gesture-based controls and you can, as they showed off at the Lenovo Tech World show, play a virtual keyboard in real-time.  There appears to be little too little to no latency too, which can be a problem in some accessory systems such as this, this would certainly make using your phone for work easier, imagine being able to use it to write documents anywhere with a flat surface.

Looking back there was a rumour the iPhone 6 would come with a projection keyboard, it obviously didn’t but people loved the idea, so Lenovo actually did it, Smart Cast is a real product.

However that’s all we know, it exists they have a working model, but we have no idea on the spec or a price point for the phone. I guess we will have to wait for a release date until we get more information.
