Sony A77 detailed specifications as well as more photos leaked

For any Sony fan and keen photographer, you’ll probably have heard the recent rumours about the yet to be announced Sony A77 – well, we’ve now been treated to some more leaked pictures of the camera and also some info about the technical spec as well.

It would seem that the A77 will be equipped with a 24.3MP Exmor HD CMOS sensor which will be supported by a 19 point AF sensor, and 11 cross sensors, for optimum image captures. It will also have an ISO range of 100-16000, which should give the camera impressive performance in low-lit situations, it also has an expandable ISO 50 option as well.  The A77 will also be able to record 1080 HD video with the option of shooting at 60fps and 24fps, and will utilize the AVCHD 2.0 specification.

The A77 will also be the first of Sony’s DSLR range to feature a newly developed Bionz processor, used to convert RAW images into more commonly used file formats. It will also feature a TrueBlack 921k 3-way tilt LCD and a 3 million dot OLED viewfinder.  It will also have the Smart Teleconverter function when used on Live View mode to give users a 1.4x and 2.0x conversions.

Finally, the A77 will be constructed from Magnesium alloy and will weigh 680g – the price is expected to be in the region of $1000 – $1200 (around £600 – £730).

It’s expected that Sony will officially announce the A77 along with a selection of new lenses tomorrow (the 24th), so we should’nt have to wait too long before we can get all the latest rumours confirmed.
