Here it is then, if you’re a fan of the Bada OS, then I’m guessing you’re going to be quite excited about the fact that Samsung have just unviled a trio of Bada 2.0 devices ready for your enjoyment.
The newly announced devices are the Wave 3, Wave M and Wave Y. All three devices also utilize Samsung’s new naming convention – for example, the M is used for mid-tier devices and Y used for entry-level handsets.
Of the newly announced Bada devices, the Wave 3 has the highest spec as it features an impressive 1.4Ghz CPU, packs a 4-inch SuperAMOLED screen with WVGA resolution and features Samsung’s latest TouchWiz UI. The Wave 3 also features a 5MP camera with an LED which will allow you to capture HD video at 720p with 30fps, while on the front of the Wave 3 there’s a VGA camera for your video calls as well. The smartphone has 3GB of internal memory and also supports a microSD card (up to 32GB), and will be powered by a 1500Mah battery weighing only 122 grams.
Moving on to the Wave M, the new smartphone would seem to aimed at the social networker, it has an 832Mhz CPU and a 3.65-inch TFT LCD screen with HVGA resolutoin. The Wave M also feature a 5MP camera like the Wave 3, although video recording has been limited to HVGA@30fps, the Wave M also has a VGA camera on the front for video calling. Internal memory on the Wave M comes in at 150MB but it can also hold a microSD card up to 32GB as well. The battery used for the Wave M is rated at 1350Mah and is one gram lighter than the Wave 3 at 121grams.
Finally we move onto the Wave Y, which based on Samsung’s new naming convention makes the handset an entry-level model. The Wave Y features the same CPU as the Wave M although has a smaller 3.2-inch TFT LCD screen with HVGA resolution. There is a 2MP fixed focus camera on the Wave Y which can record HGVA @ 30fps. You can expect to get 150MB of internal memory and again like the others it will support at microSD card up to 32GB in size. The Wave Y will be powered using a 1200Mah battery and weighs only 102.4 grams.
All three devices will have NFC capabilities along with a selection of Samsung proprietary software. At the moment there is no information regarding pricing or availability, but as soon as any details become available, you can be assured we’ll let you know.
