Don’t get too excited if you live on these shores, but our friends across the Atlantic will be happy to hear that music streaming service Spotify will be openig its doors to US customers for free for 6 months, in a bid to pull in more users.
The service, which spent a long time fighting with record labels for the right to open in the US at all, has just been detailing its plans to integrate more socially with Facebook at the latter’s f8 conference, so now’s the time to try and dramatically up its membership.
Spotify’s been invite only in the US up until now, with a free subscription that caps users to 10 hours of music per month. This 6 month-long deal will see anyone be able to join and enjoy unlimited streaming. Will it help the service gain a foothold in the States? Let us know on the Gadget Helpline Twitter feed.
