The Blackberry 9810 aka ‘Torch 2’, with it’s diminutive 3.2” HVGA touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard, is getting it’s first trip out in the United Kingdom today – courtesy of the network Three.
Despite it’s small stature, the successor to last year’s Blackberry Torch 9800 packs a respectable 1.2GHz processor – a step up from last season’s paltry 624MHz. Presented in trademark black with silver edging and chrome accents around the screen, RIM’s latest also gets a significant memory boost with a rise to 768MB from the previous model’s 512MB of RAM – with potential for 16 to 32GB expansion on a MicroSD card. Photo fans will benefit from a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with proximity sensing.
The Blackberry 9810 is one of the first five RIM mobile handsets to include the newest Blackberry OS, version 7.0, and comes with BBM, digital compass and Bluetooth connectivity.
Network Three are offering all this plus unlimited data, 5000 texts and 2000 call minutes on it’s £37 per month contract from today.
