This is pretty awesome, if a little bit of a tease for mobile phone fans in certain countries. Nokia has posted a cool little video showing you how their first (and last) MeeGo-based smartphone, the N9 is made.
In the video we follow the journey of the N9 from parts to the complete, finished product. We start off watching how the CAM machines mill out the shape of that smooth and sleek coloured casing, which is then followed up by the camera and area for the metal Nokia logo on the back, both of which are meticulously filed until smooth and perfect.
Our short trip around the Nokia factory shows the phone’s components being assembled, which include the 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and the awesome 8-Megapixel rear camera which features a Carl Zeiss lens and optics.
Finally we see the front of the handset assembled, which is the most striking part of the N9. The entire front of the handset is encased in tough Gorilla Glass, which covers the 3.9-inch touchscreen.
Windows Phone fans should also take note, as the Nokia 800 (Sea Ray) is manufactured in the same way, with the same casing and design used. We’re expecting Nokia to officially unveil that phone tomorrow at their Nokia World expo in London.
Unfortunately the Nokia N9 will never go on sale in the UK, U.S., Spain, Italy, France, Germany, or Canada. On the plus side, we will get to see something very similar tomorrow in the Nokia 800.
