Pope Switches On Massive Christmas Tree’s Lights With Sony Android Tablet!

Pope Benedict XVI took to his tech again last night to turn on the lights of World’s Largest Christmas Tree based in Gubbio, Umbria – but the papal didn’t just flip a switch, he used did it in style – with a Sony tablet powered by Android!

A statement before the big switch on read “He will touch the screen of a Sony ‘Tablet’ with an “Android” operating system which, via the Internet, will transmit the command to switch on the electric current to the tree.” – Couldn’t be any simpler.

The event was broadcast live and the 265th Sovereign of Vatican City, now aged 84 was seen with the undetermined Sony tablet powering on the universal symbol of peace and brotherhood among people – the tree itself located up the side of the Mount Ingino. We can only presume the gadget he used was the newest S1 tablet which was recently launched.

It seems the Pope has done away with his Apple iPad that his aides were assisting the Saviour’s senior servant with back in July as he launched the Vatican news website and announcing it via tweet. Perhaps the Pope will conduct his Easter sermon via Skype from a Motorola Xoom 2?
