Official Nintendo Wii U Facebook Page Goes Live – Reggie Welcomes the “Best Fans” in New Video

Nintendo has officially kicked off the promotion for its grand unveiling of the finished Wii U console at the E3 expo in Los Angeles next week. The dedicated Wii U page went live on Facebook this weekend and new likers were welcomed by a special video from everybody’s favourite Nintendo America CEO Reggie Fils-Aimes.

The new Wii U page continues the mystery surrounding the final product which will arrive next Tuesday at the entertainment and gaming event, and the cover image for the Facebook presence features a locked vault with a bright blue glow emerging from behind the door, waiting to bust out. No teases of the actual console or its HD touchscreen tablet controller which was presumed to be leaked in a photo last week.

Appearing in a video message #Regginator addresses “the best fans” thanking visitors and supporters of Nintendo Wii U, which made its first appearance at last year’s E3 event and he talks a little about the new dedicated Wii U page that will host all the latest exciting updates on the new home console and we’ve already subscribed to the event page for the All-Access Presentation which will stream the live event footage from Nintendo throughout the first two days of the event, including the big Wii U reveal, as well as the first games to become available for the console.

Nintendo 3DS looks to get a large mention also, with a possible new Super Mario 4 title being announced alongside details of the Nintendo Network – a new gaming community which will connect all Nintendo gamers in a service resembling Xbox Live or the PSN.

Check out the official Wii U page now, as well as the All-Access event page – and of course the Gadget Helpline will be covering all the breaking gaming news coming out of the Los Angeles E3 event!
