Having already shifted 9-million units before the smartphone was even released, Korean mobile manufacturer Samsung has predicted sales of its Galaxy SIII to reach the grand figure of 10-million in the next month. Oh, and the previously absent Pebble Blue edition has finally turned up here in the UK!
Firstly, that news of Samsung’s big boast that the SGSIII will excel to new sales heights this July, and the tech co.’s President of Mobile Communications JK Shin has been quoted in the Bloomberg Businessweek as saying the gadget will hit 10-million in just three months after being launched.
Pre-orders began being taken shortly after the Galaxy SIII’s announcement on May 3rd in London, and Shin puts his prediction down to the fantastic response from overseas buyers, suggesting the west has been more responsive to this generation Galaxy S than even the previous best-selling Galaxy SII. Considering the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich based smartphone has only just been release in the States after escaping the grip of Apple, it’s [pretty impressive.
The numbers speak for themselves but the Samsung Galaxy SIII might have fared even better if it wasn’t for the disappointing no-show of one of the two available colours.
The Pebble Blue edition didn’t make it over with its sibling Marble White model. This was believed to be down to a flaw with the blue case coating that was only identified last minute. A number of handsets passed quality checks but 600,000 units were discarded meaning this version didn’t make it to satisfy the UK demand for the May 30th launch.
Networks are now reporting that the quad-core Samsung Galaxy SIII in Pebble Blue is now in stock and up to order online with O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Three and Vodafone announcing stock availability.
