It seems that Rovio, the hugely successful creators of the Angry Birds mobile (and now consoles) gaming franchise, is set to take its next big step away from those Furious Fowls as their first non-Angry Birds game. Amazing Alex is looking set to be released tomorrow, the 12th of July.
Rovio Mobile will release the game for both Apple iOS devices and Android running mobile devices, and looks set to ruin many a productive person’s workday with its latest concentration-sapping game.
Amazing Alex is a remake of a physics-based game called Casey’s Contraptions which was available on the Apple App store for some time until Rovio swooped in and bought the game from its original developers.
Since then Rovio has been putting its own spin on the game and adding the quirkiness of gameplay we all loved from the franchise. Rovio also seems to be putting all of of its eggs in the Amazing Alex basket by promoting the game quietly with the likes of the Orange San Diego televised adverts.
The games itself is a Rube Goldberg machine (Google it) style puzzler with the aforementioned Amazing Alex trying to sort through a load of fun homemade puzzles. You can check out a view of the original Casey’s Contraptions gameplay in the video below.
We will be downloading the game when it becomes available on July the 12th from both the Apple App store and Google’s Play Store, will you?
And as per usual we apologise for any egg-cessive puns, we just can’t help it.
