Angry Birds Trilogy Arriving on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo 3DS in Time For Christmas

The turkey won’t be the only big bird our families and friends will be tucking into this Christmas as Rovio’s reluctance to give up on its feathery franchise has hatched yet another spin-off on the popular Angry Birds game.

The popular app game for Android and Apple iOS gadgets will fly the nest again, this time it’s with a console-friendly collection of its first three Angry Birds titles!

Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and Angry Birds Rio will all be refreshed and repackaged as the Angry Birds Trilogy and will become available on disc for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and card format for Nintendo 3DS towards the end of the year.

The “ultimate collector’s edition” – as creator Rovio calls it – will make the most of the upgrades to screen size and visual capabilities by adding new cinematic scenes and extra never-seen-before content. Level backgrounds which were previously unnoticeable and static will now also feature reactive movements.

In addition to the rebooted and console optimised visuals, Sony gamers will be able to command the avian arsenal via Playstation Move and likewise Microsoft Xbox owners can utilise Kinect. As for Nintendo 3DS, portable players will have a few bonuses of their own including use of the StreetPass feature and presumable three-dimensional play.

Rovio is yet to confirm a release date or price for the Angry Birds Trilogy but Gadget Helpline has to wonder – are you looking forward to more beak for your buck – or have you gone cold turkey on Angry Birds?
