Its seem the Google Nexus 7 is no longer the only Jelly Bean Android 4.1 tablet around now as customers who own the Motorola XOOM table will finally be able to get their hands on the latest upgrade to the tablet Android software.
Motorola has been publicly testing the Xoom and the JB update for the past few weeks with its Motorola Feedback Network, and is now it is set to become the Third device to have the Jelly Bean software added and a real contender to the Google Nexus 7 tablet.
However us in the UK will still probably have to wait as the 4.1.1 Jelly bean build will be released for the US Wi-Fi only Xoom tablets at the moment and not for any of the 4G or Network branded Xooms.
Motorola have had a bad history with updating its handsets with a range of its current phoens including the Motorola RAZR and RAZR Maxx still awaiting the last Ice Cream Sandwich update so the wide release of Jelly bean may not be on the cards immediately.
If you are in the US then you can search for the update now on your XOOM Tablet now but most will receive the update when it comes to the device as part of the rollout. Some users are also reporting that clearing the Google Services Framework (Settings/Apps/All/Google Services Framework/Clear Data) may help and force the update through.
There is no news on when the update will come to European shores but we should expect a rollout in the coming weeks.
