Samsung’s bigger and better Galaxy Note II smartphone-come-tablet is now ready to pre-order for UK fans, with six different versions revealed along with some prices.
Our good friends over at Clove Technology have just listed six variations of the new ‘phablet’, three for each of the colour variations, Marble White and Titanium Grey. As you might expect, each colour comes in three different storage sizes of 16, 32 and 64GB, with each also boasting a micro SD card slot to allow the capacity to be increased by a further 64GB maximum.
Clove lists a price for the 16GB models only at the moment, with the princely sum of £546 being asked for both colour versions SIM-free, meaning that you can put in any SIM you like and use it off the bat.
First stock is expected to land in the UK midway through October, meaning that those who pre-order now should get their handset before the end of the month, providing there are no delays. Samsung seems to have a habit of launching the 16GB version of its phones everywhere, limiting the 32GB as an exclusive to a select network, and delaying the 64GB monster for a fair while after the initial launch, so we’d expect that to be the case here as well.
For those who missed the original announcement, Samsung has redesigned its monstrous Note smartphone to reflect the design of the Galaxy SIII, with smoothed corners and edges and a more natural look and feel. The screen size has been upped to 5.5-inches, while the general size of the phone itself stays almost the same – it’s thinner both in terms of depth and width, but slightly longer to accommodate the 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display.
Samsung has jammed a powerful 1.6GHz quad-core processor and a whopping 2GB of RAM inside to make sure the phone can handle plenty of productivity and design apps at the same time – the finest example of this is the pop-up video feature which lets you continue watching a movie while emailing, browsing and more.
Will you be getting Samsung’s new giant smartphone, or is it just too big for you? Let us know.
