Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 will get Jelly Bean, amongst 14 other devices

Samsung has confirmed exactly which of its devices will be updating to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, listing four tablets and eleven smartphones, some of which we really hadn’t expected to make the cut.

After officially confirming that the update had indeed started its roll out to the Galaxy SIII, the Korean company also added a list of its products which would join the flagship smartphone on the latest version. To our surprise, the rumours of the Galaxy Ace 2 and Galaxy Mini 2 getting Jelly Bean were true!

Both the Ace 2 and Mini 2 are currently running Gingerbread, a good two versions away from Jelly Bean. From what we’ve heard, it looks likely that Samsung will skip Android 4.0, aka Ice Cream Sandwich, altogether and just go straight to Jelly Bean for these devices.

The original Galaxy Tab 10.1 will also be getting the update, which is good news for those who have stuck with their tablet while a second generation version was rolled out. The full list of devices being updated is as follows;

  • Galaxy Tab 2.7.0
  • Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
  • Galaxy Note 10.1
  • Galaxy S II
  • Galaxy Note
  • Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus
  • Galaxy S Advance
  • Galaxy S II LTE
  • Galaxy Music
  • Galaxy Chat
  • Galaxy Ace 2
  • Galaxy Beam
  • Galaxy Ace Plus
  • Galaxy Mini II
  • Galaxy S Duos

No dates have been set for the updates as of yet, but as soon as we hear anything we’ll let you know.
