It’s been a great year for Samsung when it comes to smartphone sales and after taking on the first half of the year with the best-selling Galaxy SIII, the Korean company proudly reveals that it’s recently released beast the Galaxy Note 2 has now surpassed the five-million sales mark globally.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was launched on September 29th and is the highly successful and high-powered sequel to the original Note which came out a year prior. The smartphone was the first from Samsung to feature the sweet new Android 4.1 update called Jelly Bean and boasts a range of specially optimised features and apps designed to be used in co-operation with a stylus, or S-Pen.
With increased specs including a 1.6GHz Exynos quad-core CPU, 2GB of onboard RAM and the potential to expand the 16, 32 or 64GB of internal memory by up to 64GB and a screen boost from 5.3 inches to a 5.5 inch 720p display, the ‘phablet’ (massive phone/small tablet) shifted over three-million units in the Note 2’s very first month on the market.
These sales figures are no doubt much to the annoyance of Apple, who recently released a new iPhone and was quick to claim patent infringement on Samsung once again.
