Lumia 620, 820 and 920 to get new speed improvement software updates

Nokia has released a new software update for its latest range of Windows Phone 8 running Lumia smartphones. The update will be coming to the Nokia Lumia 620, 820, and 920 over the next few weeks and the update has some important security and functionality improvements.

The update will be version 1232.5957.1308.00xx for the 820 and 920 and it will bring an improvement to the automatic display brightness setting, a fix for the intermittent screen blanking during a call issue and few extra performance and stability improvements.

For the Lumia 620 a software version called 1030.6407.1308.00xx will be released and it will bring the following updates to the budget smartphone:

  • Improved touch screen functions, including corrections in multi-touch actions
  • Better voice quality with Bluetooth headsets that support echo/noise suppression
  • Enhanced camera performance with corrected exposure when flash is used in bright light conditions
  • Various improvements to system stability, performance, and usability

The updates to the 620 will reportedly make the handset much speedier, more responsive and scrolling is noticeably smoother, all of which will improve the bargain phone even more.

The software will be released via networks/carriers and it will be rolling out gradually over the coming weeks, but Nokia has asked users to “please stay patient and wait for the notification to pop up on your phone screen once your phone is eligible”.
