The next Call of Duty game just became very real, with the official CoD site being taken over by a ghostly face. Call of Duty: Ghosts is suddenly looking very official.
Activision and Infinity Ward, the studios behind this year’s new title in the blockbuster game franchise, have started the promotional push for the game early. Head over to the Call of Duty website now and you’ll be faced with a skull-like face that’s similar to the one on the mask found on the cover art leaked recently by Tesco.
The site features a magnifying tool that reveals the skull image to be made up of thousands of tiny squares, each representing a Twitter user that has exclaimed excitement for the up and coming game. If you’ve been tweeting about ‘Ghosts’ then you can use the ‘Find Me’ feature to see if your thoughts made it in to the mosaic somewhere, which is pretty cool.
This latest teaser is merely a new holding page for the Call of Duty website, and from what we can tell there’s little more to it than this interactive mosaic of tweeters around the world. It is however some official confirmation on the information leaked by Tesco just last week, where we learned that the new game would be called ‘Ghosts’ and would launch in December.
Recent information revealed by IGN points to a May 1st reveal, where Activision and Infinity Ward will show the world what the next Call of Duty game will be like for the first time. Cast back to May 1st, 2012, and Black Ops 2 was revealed during the NBA Play-offs on American TV. Could history repeat itself this year? We’ll find out in a few day’s time.
